Ask yourself: do you believe that -
- Everyone is separate & rightfully pursues just his or her own interest.
- Life is a struggle for existence; only the fittest (wealthiest) survives.
- In the ruthless competition for survival the ends justify the means.
- We are past the point of no return, so why bother trying.
- The more money you have, the better/happier you are.
- These problems need to be solved by people outside of myself.
- If we want peace, we must prepare for war.
- The Earth is an inexhaustible source of resources.
If you hold such beliefs, you are part of the problem. But how can you become part of the solution? Here you must take a further step: cultivate new thinking. As Einstein said, you can’t solve a problem with the same kind of thinking that produced the problem.
To accelerate the adoping of new thinking, values, world views, beliefs and perspectives we can also reach out to therapists, psychologists, mentors, nature, teachers, community events, contemplative practices and courses.
Drop all seperating beliefs. Embrace ecological values. Discover your own version of happiness.
Do whatever it takes to speed up a shift in consciousness - the acceptance of responsibility, the abandonment of old-pradigm attitudes and the implementaion of new initiatives.
"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." ~ Barack Obama
